When I first created this blog, I was hoping for as many good events as bad to write about. Unfortunately, finding the good is very often a significant challenge given today’s news media. The events of this past weekend in France have dominated the world’s newscasts for almost a week now and have made me realize that there will never be a shortage of bad things to write about.
Finding good things that are really worth highlighting might in some small way balance the negative events which are and will be occurring over the next while. Next year, while I am on sabbatical from my regular work, I will be making a concerted effort to post regularly and ferret out those good news stories that you might otherwise miss. As usual, I will still relate library resources to these postings so you can read more deeply and understand more thoroughly the full scope of what it may mean to you personally.
